Basketball in the Netherlands: pickup, 3v3 and 5v5
Your guide to basketball in the Netherlands: learn about pickup rules and 3v3 or 5v5 formats, then find an open game in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag or Utrecht.
What is pickup basketball?
Pickup basketball is an independently organised game that does not require a permanent team or a full league season. Choose a game with space, meet at the listed court and play with the hoopers who attend.
Choosing 3v3 or 5v5
3v3 is played on a half court with one basket and has a quick, direct rhythm. 5v5 normally uses a full court and adds more positions and team play. Hooperz shows the format before you join.
